ThunderBolts Triumph Over Boomers
The Windy City ThunderBolts achieved their first victory of the season against the Schaumburg Boomers, winning 12-7 in an exciting game. Despite the Boomers initially taking a commanding lead with six runs in the second inning, the ThunderBolts responded fiercely. Schaumburg opened the scoring early, with Alec Craig and Bren Spillane contributing to a 7-2 lead after a grand slam by Christian Fedko. However, Windy City clawed back, scoring three runs in the fourth and five in the sixth inning to take control of the match. Eric Turner pitched five innings for the Boomers but did not secure a win, while Deretd Parra was tagged with the loss. Andrew Sojka stood out with three hits for Schaumburg, but it wasn?t enough to overcome the ThunderBolts, who finally secured a win after losing their first six encounters with the Boomers this season.
